<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium that is resistant to influence owing to contamination gas and moisture and forms a lubricating film thinner in film thickness, and an apparatus for manufacturing the magnetic recording medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium including at least a magnetic film and the lubricating film on a substrate in this order, forms the lubricating film on the substrate 10 having the magnetic film by attaching lubricant while applying electric field.
