<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain indiscriminate attack through e-mails and the transmission of malicious or dangerous e-mails from an unsolicited e-mail sender in an Internet mail system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An Internet mail routing system (IMRS) implements a mechanism for restricting communicable e-mail servers, and rejecting e-mails from other than normal Internet domains, by controlling transmission/reception of e-mails between e-mail servers. Further, by setting a subscriber policy, reception of e-mails from non-subscribers can be also rejected and direct transmission of e-mails from a non-subscriber's e-mail server to a subscriber's e-mail server can be disabled, so that safer communication between e-mail servers can be achieved.
