<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyurethane resin emulsion for water-based paint, giving a dried coated film having an impact resistance which is the same with or better than that of a conventional water-based emulsion and having good time stability unattainable by conventional polyurethane resin emulsions. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The polyurethane resin emulsion satisfies the conditions that the glass transition temperature of the polyurethane resin (U) is -110°C to -20°C and the linear expansion ratio representing the difference in the length of a dried film before and after being immersed in dimethylformamide at 25°C for 48 hr is 100-180%, provided that the dry film is obtained by drying the polyurethane resin emulsion at 105°C for 3 hr.
