<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool holder capable of achieving high machining precision and high reliability in ultrasonic machining. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The shrinkage fit type ultrasonic tool holder has a tapered steel holder 2 attached to a rotary shaft and a jaw 5 and a groove 6 for gripping a manipulator in the holder 2. A ferrite rotary transformer 8 at a rotation side is arranged between a tapered part in the holder 2 and the jaw 5 in the holder 2 and tightened and fixed by a steel fixing ring 7 having an internal thread for fixing the rotary transformer 8 at the rotation side. A steel rear mass 11 in an ultrasonic vibrator is joined with the inside of the holder 2 of the shrinkage fit type ultrasonic tool holder by shrinkage fitting, but a connection part 23 for connecting the rear mass 11 with the holder 2 is not included in the ultrasonic vibrator. A steel chuck cylinder 3 is provided in a front part of the ultrasonic vibrator, and an end mill being a cemented carbide tool 4 is joined with the chuck cylinder 3 by shrinkage fitting.
