The regulator (1) has a jet regulator housing (4) comprising a wall section that limits a housing free space that comprises a holding projection. The holding projection is moved into a holding position by resetting force caused by self-elasticity of wall material. A safety slide is moved from an outlet front side into the housing free space such that a sliding movement of the safety slide is converted into a sliding movement of the wall section, and/or crimping of the wall section is prevented.
