<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a fuel supply amount from a gallery to a plunger chamber. <P>SOLUTION: This high-pressure pump includes a plunger 44, housings 40, 43 in which a plunger chamber 45 and a gallery 49 are formed, respectively, and a solenoid valve 60 and a fluid introduction valve 71 for stopping and allowing the supply of a fluid from the gallery 49 to the plunger chamber 45. A first fluid supply passage 43b and a second fluid supply passage 70 for supplying the fluid from the gallery 49 to the plunger chamber 45 are formed in the housings 40, 43, respectively. The first fluid supply passage 43b and the second fluid supply passage 70 constitute two systems of fluid supply passages which are independent of each other. The solenoid valve 60 opens and closes the first fluid supply passage 43 to control a pump discharge amount. The fluid introduction valve 71 opens the second fluid supply passage 70 when the difference between a pressure in the plunger chamber 45 and a pressure in the gallery 49 is smaller than a predetermined pressure, and closes the second fluid supply passage 70 when the difference is larger than the predetermined pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
