<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video apparatus by which a user can easily know a performable mutual equipment control function between the video apparatus and external equipment. <P>SOLUTION: In a memory 12, there are stored CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) functions which can be performed by a television receiver 100. A DVD recorder 200 is connected to an HDMI interface 15. When a predetermined operation is performed by a remote control 300, a message for inquiring whether each of the CEC functions memorized in the memory 12 can be performed by the DVD recorder 200 is transmitted to the DVD recorder 200 through the HDMI interface 15.
