<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for measuring transfer paper properties, which can detect the properties of the transfer paper in an image forming apparatus with simple configuration, and also, which is applicable for purposes other than the purpose of detecting the properties of the transfer paper. <P>SOLUTION: In the method and device for measuring the properties of the transfer paper, a heating means (heating section) for heating the transfer paper P and a detecting means (detection sensor) 11 for detecting a moisture transpiration rate from the surface of the transfer paper based on the variation of the temperature and humidity of the air are disposed near the surface of the transfer paper P. By estimating the contained moisture state of the transfer paper P from the variation of the temperature and humidity of the air detected by the detecting means 11 disposed near the surface of the transfer paper P in the state where the transfer paper P is not heated by the heating means 14, and after estimating the contained moisture state, by detecting the moisture transpiration rate which has been increased by heating the transfer paper P by the heating means 14 as the variation of the temperature and humidity of the air by the detecting means 11, the contained moisture amount and the thickness of the transfer paper are measured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
