<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce operation labor accompanying creation of a density conversion table, while performing high-quality density adjustment processing with respect to input binary images. <P>SOLUTION: A processing method for density adjustment adjusts the density of an input binary image according to a density adjustment valueε. The processing method for density adjustment includes a step of detecting a change point pixel DE which resides at the peripheral part of a mesh point H that forms the binary image; a step of calculating the number of line width pixels Lx in the horizontal direction (x direction) where the base point is the detected pixel DE, and the number of line width pixels Ly in the vertical direction (y direction) where the base point is the detected pixel DE, for the mesh point H including the detected pixel DE; a step of calculating a color conversion probability Rx in the x direction by using the density adjustment valueεand the number of line width pixels Lx, and a color conversion probability Ry in the y direction by using the density adjustment valueεand the number of line width pixels Ly; a step of acquiring a color conversion probability of the detected pixel DE by using the color conversion probabilities Rx and Ry in the x and y directions; and a step of color converting the detected pixel DE, according to the calculated color conversion probability R. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
