PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an implement for forming a recess for a horizontal drain, capable of easily machining and forming the installation recess for installing the horizontal drain at a job site, and hardly allowing a load to be imposed on the corner between the front wall and the bottom of a box-shaped gutter, after the formation of the installation recess. SOLUTION: The implement for forming the recess for the horizontal drain includes an implement body 10 which comprises a horizontally-installed body 12 having a recessed portion 12b formed on a gutter member placing surface 12a, and a pressing body 20 which has pressing surface 22a formed with a protruded portion 22b fitted into the recessed portion 12b of the implement body 10; a box-shaped gutter member T is arranged in such a manner that the bottom T1 of the box-shaped gutter member T is sandwiched between a gutter member placing surface 12a and a pressing surface 22a; and the mounting recess T5 is formed by pressing the pressing body 20 from above. A protrusive ridge 12c almost parallel to the internal corner 10a of vertically-installed and horizontally-installed bodies 11 and 12 is formed on either of the gutter member placing surface 12a except the recessed portion 12b and the pressing surface 22a except the protruding portion 22b; and a recessed groove 22c for being fitted to the protrusive streak 12c is formed in the other one of them.
