PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder capable of securing sufficient recording quality to a plurality of recording media with different sizes in a widthwise direction. SOLUTION: The printer, comprising a recording head capable of executing edgeless printing for discharging and sticking ink to a recording sheet to a terminal end in a widthwise direction, includes: a platen 14 which has a supporting face 27a capable of supporting the recording sheet and in which concave grooves 31 receiving the ink discarded from the recording head toward the outside of paper ends of the recording head in the widthwise direction at positions lower than the supporting fade 27a during the edgeless printing to the recording sheet are formed on the supporting face 27a at positions corresponding to the paper ends of the plurality of recording sheets in different sizes in the widthwise direction; and a covering lid member 38 driven so as to change the relative position of an opposite face facing the recording sheet in a vertical direction to the supporting face 27a in the platen 14 in the position of at least one concave groove 31 of the concave grooves 31 covered by the recording sheet supported on the supporting face 27a.
