PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corrosion-resistant steel material for a ship, which shows superior corrosion resistance after having been painted even in a severely corrosive environment of sea water such as a ballast tank of the ship or the like, can extend a period before being repair-coated, and besides, can ease an operation of repair coating. SOLUTION: The corrosion-resistant steel material for the ship has a steel composition including, by mass%, particularly, P reduced to 0.010% or less and S reduced to 0.0010% or less, and also at least one of 0.01-0.5% W and 0.02-0.5% Mo, at least one of 0.001-0.2% Sn and 0.01-0.2% Sb, and Cu, Ni, Cr and Co each controlled to less than 0.20%, and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities.
