The method involves guiding fine powdered, carbon contained fuel i.e. charcoal, in a mixture with oxygen or oxygen enriched gas (3a) or air. The re-accumulated fuel (4a) is concentrically jetted into a mixing chamber (6) in another burner level or one of burner lance levels (4), which extends over a partial range of an entire height of a reaction chamber (1) so that an entrained gasification occurs, via which the temperature of the gas to be discharged is reduced and an enthalpy difference is utilized for additive gasification of raw materials to be re-accumulated. An independent claim is also included for a device for manufacturing the synthesis gas.
