The method involves providing a retaining device (1) with a container receiver (10) to adjust a container (50) and a temperature device to control temperature of container contents. A retaining element (12) i.e. fluid storage, is activated based on information of a pressure sensor (14) for retaining the container in the receiver or de-activated for releasing the container from the receiver. Temperature of the contents is controlled based on the information. The information is evaluated for detecting a temperature request. Temperature functionality is performed with respect to the request. An independent claim is also included for a retaining device for retaining a container in a vehicle.
