The device has a unit provided for coupling a pumping radiation of a pumping light source in a pumping chamber (101), where a laser-active medium (104) is contained in a flow tube (105). A reflection unit (108) is provided within the chamber and transforms the coupled pumping radiation into an elongated form on the laser-active medium. The reflection unit is designed as a part of an inverse element (107) that is attached at an inner side of a cylinder (102) of the pumping chamber or an outer side of a lateral surface of the flow tube. The chamber is designed to be light reflective in sections.
