<p>The device has axial sliders (14) moved in an axial direction of turbine wheels (12) for changing a flow cross section (18) at a turbine wheel inlet. A circumferential extension (22) of the flow cross section is changed by shifting the axial sliders in the axial direction. The axial sliders include axially projecting areas opposite to returning areas (20) at a front side of the sliders.</p>
