The clamp (1) has frames (5, 7) connected with each other by clamping screws (17) engaging with lugs (9, 11) of the frames. The frames are fixed at a cylinder (3) of a vibration damper, and a clamping gap (27) is provided between clamping surfaces (23, 25) of the lugs. The lugs forming the clamping gap are arranged at an acute angle (alpha) in a cross section to a longitudinal axis of the cylinder. The lugs of the frames are arranged diagonal to a lateral surface of the cylinder. The clamping surfaces exhibit an enclosed angle (gamma) of 90 degrees to each other.
