<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly stop supply of electricity to a network apparatus, according to the operational state of a terminal apparatus serving as a host, and to reduce electric energy consumed in a user environment. <P>SOLUTION: A CPU 301 of the network apparatus (MFP) counts, on the basis of packets received in a certain fixed period of time, the number of terminal apparatuses from among a plurality of terminal apparatuses that can communicate with the network apparatus.
