<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus shifting a storage device to a power-saving state and quickly responding to a data access request from an external information processing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: Sharing setting and an access target are set for every data item stored in a storage device. If no data item stored is set to be shared or if an access target is no longer detected while in a state of an external device connected over a network, the power to the storage device is cut off. Thereby it is possible to determine if there is the possibility of the stored data being accessed; if there is no possibility of the data being accessed, power-saving is achieved; if there is the possibility of the data to be accessed, a quick response can be made. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
