PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher which stably generates and use a large amount of effective components by electric discharge. SOLUTION: A dishwasher body 8 for objects 2 to be washed contained in a washing cabinet 1 includes an effective component generation device 50 which generates the effective components by electric discharge so as to discharge the effective component into the washing cabinet 1. The effective component generation device 50 includes an effective component generation part which generates electric discharge and an air course for generating the effective components where the effective component generation part is arranged. The effective component generation part includes an electrode part and an insulating spacer which is disposed closed to or in the vicinity of the electrode part and applies high voltage to the electrode part to cause electrical discharge within a minute electrical discharge space formed along the insulating spacer.
