PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting element capable of lessening chromatic aberration and controlling light distribution in a specific direction. SOLUTION: In the light-emitting element 20, having an organic EL element 10 where an organic light-emitting layer 3 is arranged between a positive electrode layer 1 and a negative electrode layer 2 and a light-distributing control section 4 arranged at a light-emitting surface side of the organic EL element 10, an organic light-emitting layer 3 of the organic EL element 10 is formed by having a red light-emitting layer 3a laminated, wherein a principal light-emitting wavelength is different, a green light-emitting layer 3b, and a blue light-emitting layer 3c. The light-distributing control section 4 can induce surface plasmons with respect to light from the organic light-emitting layer 3, and prepares pillar-shaped metal nanoparticles 4a which are arranged along a direction parallel to the direction of light emission.
