PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for creating a virtual folder based on metadata that allows insertion of a new file for a system that can be managed by metadata for an existing file server. SOLUTION: The device includes a means for accepting input of a virtual folder arrangement place, a virtual folder name, and metadata on a GUI screen, retrieving a file to which metadata corresponding to the input metadata is assigned, from the file server, creating a file list of the retrieval result, storing it after adding virtual folder identification information to the arrangement place, the virtual folder name, and the metadata, and storing the file list in a virtual folder cache database as a file list corresponding to the virtual folder identification information.
