PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect easily and precisely that an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) 20 is assembled with a torque sensor 3 having a different specification from a torque sensor 3 regarded as an object by the ECU 20. SOLUTION: A peculiar offset value is set relative to each spring rate corresponding to the spring rate of a torsion bar 104 by an offset setting circuit 231b, and the offset value of a sub-torque signal Ts is adjusted by an offset adjusting circuit 231a corresponding to setting of the offset setting circuit 231b. A peculiar threshold is set relative to each spring rate by a threshold setting part 242b corresponding to the spring rate of the torsion bar 104 of the torque sensor 3 regarded as an object by the ECU 20, and an abnormality determination part 242a determines whether the spring rate agrees therewith based on whether a difference between the sum of a main torque signal Tm and a sub-torque signal Ts and the set threshold is within a tolerance or not.
