PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera for allowing a user to check an effect of image processing before regular imaging, and to acquire a desirable image without a complicated operation. SOLUTION: The digital camera includes a face detection unit, an image processing unit, an operation unit, a control unit, and a display unit. The face detection unit detects an area of a face from a captured through image. The image processing unit applies image processing to an area of the face detected by the face detection unit based on an established adjustment level wherein one adjustment level out of a plurality of different adjustment levels is established as an adjustment level in the image processing. The operation unit receives an instruction operation about the image processing. In the case that the instruction operation received by the operation unit is intended for a change of the adjustment level, the control unit changes the adjustment level established as the image processing.
