PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens having excellent imaging optical performance over the entire zoom range and having a wide viewing angle at a wide angle end and high zoom ratio by satisfactorily correcting chromatic aberration. SOLUTION: The zoom lens has, in order from an object side to an image side, a first lens group having positive refractive power, a second lens group having negative refractive power and an image-side lens group having positive refractive power, wherein space between the first lens group and the second lens group changes when zooming. In the first lens group, when assuming that an object side and an image side are air surfaces, a dioptric element A having positive refractive power is located between an object side base material optical element B and an image side base material optical element C to constitute a cemented optical element D of three optical elements, and at least one or more optical elements having positive refractive power exist on the object side of the cemented optical element D of three optical elements.
