<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus improved in a transfer rate in a multi-transfer process, compared with an apparatus without the configuration. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 is equipped with: a magnetic drum 12 on which magnetic latent images respectively corresponding to a plurality of colors are sequentially formed and held; a developing device 16 supplying developing solutions to the corresponding magnetic latent images on the magnetic drum 12; an intermediate transfer body 18 on which toner images of the respective colors developed by the developer solutions are multi-transferred; a temperature sensor 44 measuring the surface temperature of the intermediate transfer body 18; and a heater 46 adjusting the surface temperature of the intermediate transfer body 18. The heater 46 is controlled so as to keep the surface temperature of the intermediate transfer body 18 in a predetermined temperature when toner images are multi-transferred onto the intermediate transfer body 18.
