<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the level of output torque curve automatically adjustable according to the level of load rate and reduce NOx in a diesel engine equipped with a common rail. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The diesel engine E equipped with the common rail 1 includes an output curve adjusting means using a low full load output curve "t" when load late is low and rising level of the full load output curve "t" automatically without steps as load rate increases. Fuel injection timing advance quantity is reduced without steps as the level of the full load output curve "t" is raised to the heavy load side automatically without steps.
