<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for preventing the oxidation of groundwater which can avoid a risk of trouble generation, such as deterioration of pumping efficiency and clogging, due to adhesion of iron oxide, generated in groundwater before being pumped up, to a storage pump in a well, piping for pumping water and the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for preventing the oxidation of groundwater is provided with a wood 40 as organic matter, which is disposed in the groundwater 20 in the well 10 and contains vegetable fiber.
