<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain opening and closing device which can open and close quietly and lightly without generating abrasion power and an abnormal sound while opening and closing a curtain easily and automatically through a drive unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A magnet screw consists of a rotating shaft 4 which is wound around with a magnet body of a south pole and a north pole spirally by a predetermined pitch on the surface and a slider 10 which has a sliding part 12 which is wound around with a similar magnet body spirally on an internal sliding surface. A curtain opening and closing device 1 has a structure which connects a curtain runner 8 with this slider 10 and opens and closes a curtain by rotating the rotating shaft 4 normally and reversely.
