The household appliance has a lighting device with a light source for lighting a cooking chamber of the household appliance. A light guiding device is provided, with which the light emitted by the light source is guided in the cooking chamber. The light guiding device has a light guide (18) arranged on a side of the appliance, which is coupled with another light guide (20) arranged on a door side for guiding light. The latter light guide is movable relative to the door (4).
