<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device in which when an abnormality occurs in a storage part that stores a program for performing a steering assistance control, a control mode can be selected based on the area in which the abnormality occurs. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic control device of the electric power steering device includes a storage part that stores a program and data necessary for the execution of a steering assistance control operation for controlling the electric motor, a storage abnormality detection part that detects an abnormality of the storage part, and an abnormal time control part that performs, when the storage abnormality detection part detects an abnormality, an abnormality control operation based on the area in which the abnormality is detected. The storage part includes a program storage area for storing the program and a data storage area for storing the data.
