<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching circuit which prevents a load to a semiconductor switching element without increasing the number of part items. <P>SOLUTION: This switching circuit has a semiconductor switching element 103 which has a parasitic diode 104, a diode 101 which is connected in parallel with the semiconductor switching element 103 in the same direction as that of the parasitic diode 104, and a saturable reactor 102 which is connected in series with the diode 101 and in parallel with the semiconductor switching element 103.
