<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust system cooling device for an engine, preventing or suppressing deterioration of an exhaust gas cooling effect by preventing or suppressing accumulation of a vaporized refrigerant. <P>SOLUTION: This cooling device 1A includes: a water-cooled exhaust manifold 10A for cooling an exhaust manifold by a refrigerant; and an intermittent flow generator 20A for intermittently changing the amount of cooling water W supplied to the water-cooled exhaust manifold 10A. The intermittent flow generator 20A is provided with, in particular, an impeller 23. With the center of the impeller 23 offset, the impeller 23 is arranged in the vicinity of the inlet 221 of a second cooling water discharge port 22A and on the extension line of a second cooling water introducing port 21. The inlet 221 is arcuately cut off so as to be fitted to the shape of the impeller 23, and the impeller 23 is provided with two blades 231 having a fan-like cross section for closing the inlet 221. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
