<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with both light of single and multi modes by one measuring instrument. <P>SOLUTION: The optical measuring instrument 1 at least includes an incident optical fiber 2, a processing means 7 for processing the output light of the incident optical fiber 2, and an exiting optical fiber 4 for taking in light processed by the processing means 7. A dual core optical fiber 11 is employed for the incident optical fiber 2 and the exiting optical fiber 4. The dual core optical fiber 11 is composed of a first core 13a for propagating multi mode light and a second core 13b having a smaller core diameter than the first core 13a, and for propagating single mode light. The center of the second core 13b is arranged coaxially with the center of the first core 13a, and the refractive index of the second core 13b is higher than that of the first core 13a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
