<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file management system and a mobile terminal apparatus for improving convenience. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The file management system includes: a content acquisition unit 6 for acquiring content; a file storage unit 11 for storing files of the content; a communication unit 3 for communicating with an external storage device 30 through a communication line; a capacity detection unit 13 for detecting the empty capacity of the file storage unit 11; a priority decision unit 14 for determining priority corresponding to the necessity of the files stored in the file storage unit 11; and a display unit 5 for displaying the files stored in the file storage unit 11. When storing the files of the content in the file storage unit 11, if the empty capacity is insufficient as the result of the detection of the capacity detection unit 13, the files are displayed at the display unit 5, and a user is instructed to delete the files, and if the empty capacity is insufficient after the deletion of the files by the user, the files excluding the selected files are transmitted in the order of low priority to the external storage device 30 by the communication unit 3, and deleted from the file storage unit 11.
