<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning image display which can secure an excellent display quality in a simple configuration by synchronizing the horizontal scanning and vertical scanning and synchronizing even when video signals are input in the resolution different from the designed resolution. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The scanning image display has a light source, a scanner for horizontal scanning, a scanner for vertical scanning, a memory to store the video signal at the address matching the pixel position, a means to read out the video signal from the memory address matching the scanning positions of the two scanners, and a means to adjust the light amount of the light source depending on the read video signals.
