<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent curl of a sheet in single-sided printing, and to prevent scratch to print performed on the back surface of the sheet in double-sided printing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The curl preventive device has a pair of pipe members 411, 412 aligning in the extending direction of an axes C of cylindrical shapes and provided with holes 411a, 412a toward one of radial directions. The pipe members are provided to have an axis orthogonal to a carrying direction of a sheet S, extend in a width direction of the sheet, be adjacently disposed while making the axes in parallel with each other, and rotate about the axes. A suction pump SP is connected to each pipe member through a hose H, and a discharge pump BP is connected to each pipe member through the hose. In a suction form sucking the sheet, the orientations of the holes are made to intersect each other, and the pipe members are rotated to positions turning to the carried sheet, and then the suction pump is driven. On the other hand, in a discharging form discharging air to the sheet, the orientations of the hole portions are made not to intersect each other, and the pipe members are rotated to the positions turning to the carried sheet, and then the discharge pump is driven.
