<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a liquid viscosity from increasing by a decrease in the temperature of a liquid in a discharge opening while maintaining the water repellency of a discharge surface. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A nozzle plate 130 having the discharge opening 108 discharging ink droplets thereon has a base material 130', and first and second coat layers 61 and 62 sequentially laid over the discharge surface 2a side of the base material 130' in the ink droplets discharge direction. The first coat layer 61 is a Ni-plated layer having a thickness of 5 μm and includes a plurality of hollow granular areas 61a. The second coat layer 62 is a Ni-plated layer having a thickness of 1 μm and includes a plurality of PTFE grains 62a having water repellency. The average grain size of the granular areas 61a in the first coat layer 61 is larger than the average grain size of the PTFE grains 62a in the second coat layer 62.
