PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight radiation image pickup device and system. SOLUTION: The radiation image pickup device includes an image pickup element substrate, having a conversion element for converting an incident radiation into an electrical signal; two or more flexible circuit boards connected to the image pickup element substrate; two or more circuit chips, which are arranged laterally to the image pickup element substrate, and each of which is connected to the image pickup element substrate via one of the two or more flexible circuit boards; and two or more radiation-shielding members. The two or more circuit chips and two or more radiation-shielding members have one-to-one correspondence. Each of the two or more radiation-shielding members is arranged, at a position which covers a surface on the radiation-incident side from among the surfaces of a corresponding circuit chip, but is not arranged at a position which covers a surface other than the surface on the radiation-incident side.
