<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus which can obtain high image quality on bidirectional recording, even if having a moving mechanism of an inexpensive recording head, and to provide a recording control method and a recording control program. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A value indicating the state of deviation in the medium conveying direction between a print position on forward print and a print position on reverse print for each of two recording elements arranged in the medium convoying direction in a recording head, or a correction value according to the value is stored in a corresponding storage means. The amount of conveyance in the case where a paper is conveyed to perform a reverse print after a forward print is controlled based on the value stored in one storage means, and the amount of conveyance in the case where a paper is conveyed to perform a forward print after a reverse print is controlled based on the value stored in the other storage means.
