<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a relayable network entry procedure. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission method for use in a wireless communication system including a subscriber station, a base station and an intermediate apparatus in the form of one or more relay stations includes, in the intermediate apparatus, determining whether the subscriber station has initiated a network entry process with the intermediate apparatus, for example, by receiving a ranging code from the subscriber station. At determination, the intermediate apparatus notifies the base station of the fact, while continuing to conduct the network entry process together with the subscriber station. The base station responds with a return message to the intermediate apparatus, as a part of a guidance process conducted from the base station to the intermediate apparatus, so that the intermediate apparatus can manage completion of the network entry processing.
