<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video apparatus capable of reducing consumption when a visually handicapped person views a television program etc. <P>SOLUTION: In the video apparatus 100 including a control unit 11 configured to control respective parts of the apparatus, a broadcast signal processing unit 15 configured to receive a digital broadcast signal and to perform predetermined signal processing, a display unit 22 configured to display video on the basis of the output from the broadcast signal processing unit 15, a loudspeaker 24 configured to output audio on the basis of the output from the broadcast signal processing unit 15, and the light source 23 of the video unit 22, the control unit 11 verifies whether the digital broadcast signal contains audio for visually handicapped person, and outputs normal audio and audio for visually handicapped person from the loudspeaker 24 and also turns off the light source 23 to place the video displayed on the display unit 22 in a non-display state when the audio is included. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
