PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water supply apparatus the volume of the body of which is reduced, an also, by which purified water is not re-contaminated by the time to be supplied, and to provide a cooling and purifying method for water to be used for the water supply apparatus. SOLUTION: This water supply apparatus for supplying water by cooling and purifying the water includes: a water storage space which can house water; a cool water tank having a housing space of which the outer periphery is surrounded by the water storage space; a water purifying device which is arranged in the housing space while being connected with the cool water tank, and purifies water which is supplied from the cool water tank; and a cooling device which is arranged on the outside of the cool water tank, and cools the water in the cool water tank. The water supply apparatus also includes: a refrigerator which has an external wall consisting of a heat insulating material, and for which a space for housing the cool water tank, the purifying device and the cooling device is formed; a cool water valve which is connected with the purifying device, and supplies the purified cool water; and a water discharging pipe which discharges the cool water which is supplied from the cool water valve.
