PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor device that facilitates obtaining decision results corresponding to a geometric characteristic of an object passing through a detection target region. SOLUTION: The sensor device includes a photoelectronic sensor body for obtaining an output corresponding to a light reception quantity, a decision section that determines whether a time period T wherein the output from the sensor body exceeds a preset output threshold Ts satisfies a condition whether the time period T is continued over a preset time width Tt, and an output circuit that is started when the decision section determines that the condition is satisfied so as to output a preset signal to the outside.
