PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diaphragm control apparatus of a lens interchangeable camera capable of performing an accurate step drive control, even if a stepping motor is used. SOLUTION: The control apparatus includes a stepping motor; a lead screw to have rotation drive by the stepping motor; a diaphragm driving mechanism for moving a slide member by the rotation of the lead screw; a position-sensing means for sensing the position of the slide member, and a control means for adjusting the excitation phase of the stepping motor, based on the stopping position of the slide member sensed by the position-sensing means.
