<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector which can project an easily viewable image with no dazzling by suppressing reflected light of high brightness from entering viewer's eyes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The user's position is acquired by an acquisition means 35, also, a brightness peak position in a projection image is detected by a brightness peak position detecting means 39, and then, a projection lens 11 is shifted by a lens shifting means 41 so that the user's position and the brightness peak position may be deviated from each other. Accordingly, the reflected light of high brightness is suppressed from entering the eyes of the people standing at the user's position, then, the projector can project the easily viewable image with no dazzling.
