<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robust partition wall structure, which has a fire-protecting and fire-resisting structure with rigidity, and is excellent in robustness, sound insulating property, workability and economic efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the robust partition wall structure, a first base panel and a second base panel are alternately raised in the same line based on an upper rail 3 and a lower rail 4 fixed respectively to a ceiling and a floor surface along a wall core, so that the main surface side of the same type of base panels is disposed zigzag on both the outsides along the wall core. A flange part 1D of the first base panel formed by bending both long side edges of a steel plate in a substantially Z-like sectional shape and a flange part 2D of the second base panel formed by bending both long side edges of a steel plate in a hook-like sectional shape are allowed to abut on each other, and engagingly locked to each other by a blind rivet 12 to constitute a double partition base wall. A sound absorbing material 6 is inserted to the reverse side of the base panels 1 and 2, and a board 5 is held on the surface side of the base panels 1 and 2 by a small screw or the like.
