<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc brake which suppresses brake pad vibration causing brake squeaking at the time of braking. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An attaching opening 23 is provided in a frictional lining 12 of a brake pad 5 of the disc brake, and a dynamic vibration absorber 16 is attached to the attaching opening 23. A frictional mass member 18, or a mass element of the dynamic vibration absorber 16, is made of a material same as the material of the frictional lining 12, is flush with the frictional lining 12, and is pressed to a disc rotor together with the frictional lining 12 at the time of braking. Generation of the brake squeaking is reduced by suppressing a primary bending vibration of the brake pad 5 at the time of braking. While a natural frequency of the brake pad 5 increases by an abrasion of the frictional lining 12, the natural frequency of the dynamic vibration absorber 16 increases since the frictional mass member 18 is also abraded in connection with the frictional lining 12, and the natural frequency of the brake pad 5 is kept to agree to that of the dynamic vibration absorber 16.
