MAGNETIC CIRCUIT WITH WOUND MAGNETIC CORE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic circuit having a wound magnetic core with an air gap, which ensures accurate and highly reliable performance for current sensing applications and can be manufactured at a less expensive cost.

SOLUTION: A magnetic circuit (2) including: a bridging element (8) for bridging an air gap made of a non-magnetic metal; and a wound magnetic core (4) having a plurality of stacked concentric ring layers of magnetic material with a high magnetic permeability. The magnetic core has an air gap (6) passing through a section of the stacked concentric ring layers of magnetic material, and the bridging element is welded to a lateral face (14a) of the wound magnetic core on either side of the air gap. Welding connections (22a) between the bridging element and the magnetic core extend across the stacked concentric ring layers.
