<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic circuit having a wound magnetic core with an air gap, which ensures accurate and highly reliable performance for current sensing applications and can be manufactured at a less expensive cost. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic circuit (2) including: a bridging element (8) for bridging an air gap made of a non-magnetic metal; and a wound magnetic core (4) having a plurality of stacked concentric ring layers of magnetic material with a high magnetic permeability. The magnetic core has an air gap (6) passing through a section of the stacked concentric ring layers of magnetic material, and the bridging element is welded to a lateral face (14a) of the wound magnetic core on either side of the air gap.
