PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor for an IPM motor that effectively suppresses an increase in eddy-current loss due to the enlargement of the eddy-current diameter, particularly in an end region of a permanent magnet, comprising split magnets, by making a simple structural change to the permanent magnet, and the IPM motor including the rotor. SOLUTION: The rotor 10A for the IPM motor is configured by embedding a permanent magnet 30A in a slot provided in a direction along a rotor shaft 11. The permanent magnet 30A is formed by laminating a plurality of split magnets 3A, 3B in a rotor-shaft direction. At least the split magnet 3A, located at the end or in the end region of the permanent magnet, in the split magnets is arranged in an inclination direction expanding from the end face on its stator side toward the end face on its rotor-shaft side.
